The Mexican singer Belinda will be presented in a unique concert for the Dominican Republic within the framework of her world Tour, in which she will sing songs of her Utopia disc and others hits of her career.

Insomniac World Tour of Enrique Iglesias will be presented on April 18 in the Quisqueya stadium, with a production in which the star of Hispanic music will sing his greatest hits and the songs from his album of the same name.

Book Fair, Culture Plaza, Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo’s 2008 International Book Fair will begin on 21 April and go on until 4 May. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture.

The spotlight this year will be on the 28 Caribbean countries. In addition, the fair is dedicated to the Dominican historical compiler Emilio Rodriguez Demorizi, who is a leading source of reference for historians and researchers.

The theme of the fair will be Be seduced by reading. The event will again take place in the Plaza de la Cultura surrounding the National Theater.

Caribbean Animal Welfare Conference in Santo Domingo

The Caribbean Animal Welfare Conference will be held at the Hotel Melia Santo Domingo from 21-24 April 2008.

The training conference brings together Caribbean animal welfare groups, government officials and others working on animal issues in the Caribbean.

Some topics that will be discussed include animal welfare education, disaster management, marine wildlife protection, how to run a more effective animal protection organization, and more topics to be added.
