Puntacana Group help East coast fishermen become sustainable
In order to protect the reefs in Punta Cana
The Puntacana Group, through its Punta Cana Ecological Foundation, the resorts Cap Cana and Fishing Lodge and the Dominican Fishing and Aquiculture Council (CODOPESCA) signed an agreement to empower and organize the fishermen of Dominican Republic’s East coast, and to create jobs alternatives to fishing, integrated with sustainable tourism.
The objective is to implement a Fishing Management Plan that will begin with a program of monitoring, control and surveillance of fishing in the area.
