Meeting in Punta Cana about global stock markets
With the participation of representatives from the five continents
The Annual Meeting of the Emerging Markets Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), is taking place in Punta Cana with the participation of representatives of all the world, at the Moon Palace Hotel, Spa, Golf & Casino.
Yesterday the day began with the presentation Amrjeet Sing, vice president of Securities and Exchange Board of India, who discussed the methodology of the new regulatory principles of IOSCO.
The regulation and effective supervision of financial market infrastructure was another issue agenda in the meeting today, and was presented by Greg Tanzer, Secretary General of IOSCO, Fernando Coloma, president of the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance of Chile and Oscar Leyva of the Clearing House of Colombia.
These meetings, which continue until October 18, are performed only with the involvement and presence of members of International Organization of Securities Commissions.
However, as is tradition, this event culminates with a public conference to be held this October 19, to which were invited representatives of private companies, financial institutions, economists and government officials from the Dominican Republic.
