Last year we obtained truly incredible numbersFrancisco Javier Garcia, the Dominican tourism minister, said the national tourism sector had one of its best economic performances last year, given the global financial crisis.
He added the remarkable growth can be seen with the increase in the number of tourists who visited the country and the income in dollars, which surpassed those of 2010.
The official said even the World Tourism Organization and the prestigious company JP Morgan recognize that good performance.
