Japan increases demand for Dominican fruits

Dominican fruitsJapanese are willing to pay a lot for them

Japan is demanding a lot of agricultural products and fruits produced in the Dominican Republic, especially mango, avocado, melon, pineapple and nuts, for which its citizens are willing to pay a lot, provided they maintain the quality required by the market.

The voluntary representative of Japan sent by JICA (International Cooperation from Japan Agency), Takuji Tomon, said during an interview that the percentage of Dominican exports to their country is still very low and therefore from the embassy in the Dominican Republic, the cluster of mango and Dominican Association of Exporters (Adoexpo) are working together to increase local exports to the Asian nation.
